5 ways to plan what to write

This is a question that both teachers and students ask: "How do I know what to write about?"

This article offers five ways of planning an answer. Of course, the best plans include some combination of these approaches rather than just one. The goal is to find out what works for each writer to produce the most effective writing possible.

Write often & Write regularly:

The most important rule is to write often and write regularly. The more you do it, the easier it gets. It's like running: you'll never be a marathoner if you start with a 10K and then quit after that, but many people hit their goal weight by following an everyday regimen of cooking something healthy for dinner, walking the dog, taking stairs instead of elevators, etc.

Writing every day builds the habit and routine of writing. You teach your fingers to type faster (if that's what you need). You build up stamina, so it becomes easier to write for an hour rather than five minutes. But most importantly, regular writing makes it impossible not to be writing something every day.

Always Look for creative ideas:

No doubt, writing is associated with ideas, and the initial problem every writer faces is what to write about? To overcome this problem, locate your interest, find where you love to write the most and in which niche you can give your 100%.

Oliver Smith from Essays UK loves to write on research topics about technology, and as a result, he is one of the most famous writers on such topics. After being asked by him that how do you find such appealing and demanding topics? He said that he always keeps his eyes open to look for creative ideas and uses social media platforms to understand what people are looking for and what can help them get their answers, plus what is trending.

In other words:

1) Find your audience

2) Subscribe related forums

3) Follow relevant social groups.

4) Make topics from questions. (quora is helpful in that)

5) Explore the subcategories of a general idea.

No excuses:

Regular writing also makes it easier to write about anything. In the beginning, you may not have a ton of ideas or know what exactly your interests are, but as you continue to write regularly, those things will become more apparent, and you'll have more material from which to choose.

In other words, if you want to write, the best way is to do it.

Have an idea book:

And remember that the best way to find out what you want to write about is to keep writing. Collect all your writings in one place, like a binder with pockets for each section (e.g., poetry ideas, character sketches). Store this notebook someplace where you can easily access it so that you can add to it often.

Read a lot:

Another idea is to read a lot, print out the articles you find interesting and keep them in a folder, or have a designated Pinterest board to save these ideas for future use. This is especially helpful if you focus on certain genres such as memoirs, poems, short stories, etc.

Solve ‘What if’:

Finally, as a writer, it's helpful to ask yourself many "what if" questions as this will give you ideas of what to write about and lead you in developing your work. For example, What if my favourite pet died? What if I was transported back into time and had to live like a peasant? What if I woke up as a different person tomorrow?

While you can't force yourself to be successful at writing, it is possible to put the building blocks in place to lead you toward a career as an author. Using these five basic steps is a great way to get started and master your creative process.
